***UPDATE: MAY 18, 2020***
Thanks to all of your tips, we have made an arrest in this case. The suspect was identified as 44-year-old Amy Herrington of Lakeland. Amy denied being the person in the video, but during a search of her residence, Detective Marshall found a purse and red shoes matching the ones in the video. Due to Ms. Herrington's three prior convictions for theft, the theft of the bottle of Hennessey will now be upgraded to felony petit theft. Thank you again to everyone who provided information and or shared this post.
ORIGINAL POST FOLLOWS:
A theft occurred at the Hilltop Food Mart (615 Daughtery Road) in Lakeland, on May 8th, around 3:30 p.m., and it was caught on security video.
Detectives from the Polk County Sheriff's Office are now trying to get the female suspect identified.
She went straight to the alcohol aisle and picked up a 175ml bottle of Hennessey. After taking a few cautious peeks to make sure nobody was looking at her, she grabbed the bottle and eventually tucked it away into her large shoulder bag.
Store management doesn’t recognize the lady, and they do not believe she is a regular customer.
She is described as being about 5’6” to 5’9”, dark hair, and driving a silver 2010 Nissan Versa.
If you recognize this woman, have some other information that would be helpful to this investigation, please contact Detective Marshall at 863-577-1625 (reference case#20-19225).
